What we do
Smartcar is the leading developer platform for mobility businesses. Founded in 2015, we are backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), New Enterprise Associates (NEA), and Energize Capital. From auto insurance and car sharing to EV charging and fleet management, businesses of all kinds use the Smartcar API to securely access car data with customer consent. By making it easy to connect to their customers’ vehicles, we enable companies to focus on what’s important: unlocking the freedom of movement for everyone.
Our team is also completely remote, with members based across the US and the UK. We offer a flexible work schedule, so you can run out to grab some groceries or catch that 3 PM yoga class you’ve always wanted to try.

The interview process
All interviews are virtual through video chat. Our process is transparent and takes about two weeks from the first conversation to the job offer.
Intro call
On this phone call, we will answer your questions about Smartcar and learn more about you. You will most likely speak to Mathilde or Jackie.
Hiring manager call
On this phone call, the hiring manager will dive deeper into your background and ask about projects you’ve worked on in the past. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.
Take-home challenge
The challenge will assess your skill set in relation to the role.
Challenge review
This is a video chat with a member of our team. Together, you will discuss your completed challenge and your process around it.
Final stage
The final stage will take place via video chat. It will include several interviews and a 45-minute virtual lunch with two members of the team.
